Position: C# Engineer
Location: New York city, NY
Duration: 4 to 6 Month
Face to Face is required after a telephonic conversation
Manager will be conducting phone screens first then in person interviews if candidate qualifies.
Job Description:
A Senior C# Engineer is responsible for the analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation and modification of properly engineered information systems, containing software as the major component, to meet agreed business needs. The candidate will work on, but not limited to, the Thomson Reuters Messaging Compliance product.
• Works on medium and large complex projects that are enterprise wide and require the highest level of expertise and multiple technical disciplines.
• Work involves collaborating with a team of onshore and offshore developers
• Ownership of the technical delivery of a specific architectural domain.
• Contribute key technical expertise, potentially global, which may have a direct material impact on Thomson Reuters' reputation, and products.
• Working with on-shore and off-shore development, test and operations staff
• Accountable and takes responsibility for the quality of work delivered. Sets timeframes and schedules to meet customer and business needs.
• Defining and developing the project scope of multiple complex projects with assistance from the project team.
• Developing software application modules using disciplined software development processes.
• Provides assistance in researching new and emerging technologies.
• Evaluating new tools, technologies and platforms to be included.
• Identifies ways to improve the operation of own area and to achieve efficiencies and results.
Qualifications:
• This position is not for a UI developer but this is for a Middle-tier C# application developer.
• Minimum 5 years of application development experience. Experience must include design responsibilities as well.
• Strong programming experience in C# .Net.
• Strong experience in other .Net technologies such as XML, Active Directory and Web Services.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008.
• Very good understanding of Service Oriented Architecture.
• Experience in Multi-Threaded Application Programming.
• Experienced in IIS/Web Farming.
• Hands on experience with designing scalability solutions and performance improvements.
• Solid hardware and networking skills for Windows Server 2003/2008.
• Candidate should have experience with deployment and support of large-scale production quality applications/services.
• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Perfmon & Event alerting.
• Very Focused and Challenged
• High awareness of customer service
Desired:
• Power shell scripting experience a plus
• Engaged in innovative concepts and programming techniques on how to develop high quality software and still maintaining shorter time to market (e.g. Agile and Extreme Programming (XP))
• Financial markets experience a plus
