Location : Dayton, OH
Duration : 1 Year +(Long Term)
Job Details :
Support Run & LOE teams & their associated activities.
Perform support activities in Teradata Development, Certification, & Production environments
Address support activities initiated via Web stars
Insure adherence to LN standards & best practices
Create & maintain User IDs & profiles
Maintain User & Database security credentials
Perform performance analysis, tuning, & reporting activities
Monitor, maintain & address TASM components
Perform capacity planning, analysis & reporting activities (i.e. monitoring database size, resource utilization, etc…)
Define & maintain Multi-level PPI Tables (partitioning).
Perform annual migration of data between multi-temperature environments
Perform Multi-value Compression analysis & maintenance activities.
Perform index analysis & make recommendations
Perform statistics analysis & make recommendations
Able to move objects, data & tables between systems (Dev, Cert, & Prod)
Able to interface well with Teradata in solving hardware & software issues
Extremely knowledgeable about LANBAR/Archive/Recovery
Have good working knowledgeable of OPC on mainframe
Able to handle, move & manage large amounts of data between tables & database effectively & efficiently
Very strong SQL tuning & writing skills
Knowledge of starting & stopping DBQL parameters
Knowledge of DBQL data & how to use data to troubleshoot problems, identify problem queries, & measure system performance
Knowledge of Roles & affective ways of organizing Roles to maintain flexible, but effective, access rights
Knowledge of Profiles & use to organize & standardize users
Extensive knowledge of Access rights & what level of access rights are required by users & databases & how to identify & prevent security loop holes
Extensive knowledge of TASM, its purpose, & structure.
Extensive knowledge about statistics collection & the internal storage of statistical data in DBC.
Must know how to retrieve & evaluate statistical information & be able to determine suitable & useful statistics.
Basic knowledge of Logical Host Ids & character sets
Extensive knowledge of Viewpoint & how to use its many features to manage Teradata systems.
Be able to effectively read an 'explain' plan & use Visual Explain.
Fully understand all aspects of physical indexes including Primary, Partition Primary, Secondary, & Join indexes.
Be able to determine when an index is suitable.
Be fully knowledgeable about Multi-value compression & how to implement & maintain.
Be thoroughly knowledgeable about Teradata hardware & software implementation & the concepts of AMPs & Nodes.
Be very knowledgeable about Latin & Unicode character sets. How to implement, use, & maintain.
Understand AMP Worker TASK & how to avoid 'Flow Control'
