Project Manager (Application)

Location: Eagan, MN

Duration: 6 months

 

Job Description

Qualifications:

•             Release manager PM for Delta program; Need release management experience in a program setting;

•             Working on a large program helpful; Knowledge of .com helpful; Need leadership skills - will work w/ large group of team members (developers, program managers, portfolio managers, change management, Operations, QA and PMs) and will be central point of contact releated to releases;

•             Good in high-pressure situations; Familiar with QA and ITIL helpful (we use HP Quality Center);

•             Ability to work odd, rotating hours (laptop and remote access will be provided and it is okay to work from home for late night and early morning cutovers)

 

Responsibilities:

•             *Establish/manage release schedule/calendar w/ the bus & IT (includes major & maint releases)

•             *Document adjustments to release process for Polaris & training folks w/i the affected teams

•             *Perform/initiate actual environment builds for everything after dev (integration, QA, staging, prod)

•             *Manage RET (Release Eng Toolset) for Polaris

•             *Working w/ dev &; QA leads, manage builds & organization for 20 QA tracks that correspond to 20 dev tracks

•             *Produce release reports (Go/No-Go, release summary, etc.) for mngmnt

•             *Central comm. point for all Polaris release activity, coordinates w/ all other teams involved. there will be a lot of conf calls & the release manager is the one who conducts the calls.

•             *Implement continuous improvements to release & build toolset

•             *Deliver value & key metrics to the senior management team

•             *Hours over 40 per week will be common during heavy release times.
