Java Developer with Cassandra

Responsibilities:

• Develop new products and perform upgrades, enhancements or maintenance to existing products
• Effectively participate in functional/technical group discussions with team members and requirements definition meetings with the Product team and a variety of clients
• Explore product requirements to figure out technical difficulties, recommend implementation approaches, and draft functional specifications (FRDs)
• Perform unit testing and provide guidance/support during Integration testing phase
• Resolve defects during QA testing and in post-release patches
• Work and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients as needed, including collaborating with team members or clients based internationally
• Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience/knowledge in:

o    Core Java development

o    Spring/Struts framework

o    Working knowledge of JDBC or Hibernate

o    Experience creating and manipulating web services (REST/SOAP)

·         Oracle SQL (and PL/SQL) for joins, data queries, functions, packages, etc…

• Experience with Cassandra Database.

o    UNIX (prefer HP/UX or Linux)

• Command line and Shell scripting experience

o    Experience with Weblogic or Websphere

• Experience with multi-threaded programming
• Experience with design patterns.
• Excellent Problem solving skills.
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills

 

Nice to have skills:

• Prefer to have Sun Certification for Java Programmer/Developer or Web Component.

• Experience with EJB's
