They are looking for Ruby on Rails! Developers.

The most important things are "They have professional experience developing Ruby on a project with others."

1-2 years minimum Ruby experience.

 

These are the tools they use, but they only need somebody that has over a year scripting in ruby on rails:

·         Working knowledge of one or more of the following: Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Linux, DB2, Java, LANSA, RPG, COBOL, IBM iSeries (AS/400), SQL; working knowledge of PC's and common office applications

·         Strong programming skills, with the ability to follow department standards and meeting high levels of quality, clarity and efficiency; ability to organize and plan work for self.

Must Haves:

·         1-2 Ruby on Rails experience working on a large business application, emphasis on both scripting and the framework.  

·         We're not really looking for a Java developer that has self taught on Ruby.

·         Good communication skills.

·         We're looking for a bright person, a thinker, not a person who does what they are told.

Plusses:

·         Experience in an agile environment (we're kind of like scrum).  We have two week iterations. 

 

Day to Day:

They will be working on the second half of a 2 year project. The first half ,creating paywalls for websites, is completed  (paywall is a "wall" or webpage that comes up when you try to access a link that you have not paid for on their website, then they have the different ways that you can pay to access the link they were originally trying to access). THEIR PURPOSE will be coding in Ruby on Rails in order to implement these paywalls into their billing side of ecommerce. "Connecting the dots."

 

The development manager gives a test over the phone for the first interview.   If they pass, we will bring them in (or can do by phone) a second interview with the development project managers.
