The Hewlett Packard X9000 Network Storage System is designed to scale-out beyond traditional NAS in both capacity and performance, also flexible and cost-efficient. I am  integrating and testing various features of the product with external software's like Symantec Net backup , Backup exec ,Active Directory, LDAP, security products …etc

 

Responsibilities and Activities

• Installing X9000 enterprise NAS application (IBRIX) on HP DL G6/G7 and G8 servers.
• Creating testing infrastructure for windows and Linux machine using VM ware Lab infrastructure.
• Configuring Likewise to enable CIFS authentication from Windows and MAC clients.
• Joining NAS clusters in Active directory domains and testing CIFS related testing like access control list permissions, CIFS share management from Windows GUI and Ibrix CLI, configuring rfc 2307 mode, ABE,LDAP authentication, Multi forest trust relationship..etc.
• Development and running of test cases to test the integration of data management applications within the HP's X9000 NAS Platform.
• Strong knowledge in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
• Development of Test Plan and Execution of new features on HP's X9000 Platform
• Integrating vendor software's like Symantec backup applications, anti viruses, Active Directory, LDAP...Etc with HP enterprise NAS application.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycles and testing methodologies.
• Contributing to the creation of new features and writing test plans.
• Developing and running new feature tests and regression tests.
• Managing defects from inception to verification and closure using Bugzilla.
