Position: MicroStrategy BI Developer with Java experience
Location: Ashburn, VA
Duration: 6+ months
Description:
§ Design and code from specifications, analyzes, evaluates, tests, debugs, documents, and implements complex software apps
§ Uses coding methods in specific programming languages to initiate or enhance program execution and functionality
§ Participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and selection of hardware and software solutions
§ Perform project management of estimating, scheduling, and monitoring tasks
§ Develop, maintain, and report intranet metrics
§ Interface with different departments within the organization regarding new deployments
§ Research/analyze data processing functions, methods and procedures
§ Monitor program execution for expected performance
§ Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
§ Experienced MicroStrategy Developer for projects that span numerous functional areas and lines of business within the company.
§ The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years experience working with BI on various DBMS platforms.
§ 5+ years of Microstrategy development experience - Experience in both schema and public object design and build
§ Hands on knowledge in designing or developing dashboards using Microstrategy - Proven analytical and problem solving skills
§ Strong communication skills, both written and oral; Ability to effectively explain complex issues and concepts in simple, understandable language
§ Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications
§ Full life cycle BI development
§ Create and modify schema objects
§ Design and build pixel perfect report service documents and interactive Flash dashboards
§ Implementation of web based ad-hoc reporting
§ 3+ years front-end integration experience working with development teams on the deployment of web based applications (Java, J2EE)
§ 5+ years experience working with the utilizing SQL in datawarehousing environments likeTeradata.
§ Provide analysis and support to end users by utilizing SQL in an Oracle environment to generate extracts and queries.
§ Cognos experience a big plus.
