Informatica/ETL Developer

Role: Informatica Developer

 

Role Description: The Informatica Developer would need to have at least 5 to 7 years of experience. This Candidate would create a new data warehouse by assembling data from multiple, disparate systems; build substantially improved analytical capabilities.

 

Required Skills:

•        Ideal technical experience (minimum 5+ years of solid Informatica experience, 10 years strongly preferred).

•        Expert in database concepts, logical/physical design and development, Informatica PowerCenter 9.

•        Working knowledge of Informatica PowerExchange.

•        Analyze and evaluate data sources

•        Designs, develops and implements complex ETL processes.

•        Good knowledge of ETL processes and Informatica Best Practices.

•        Informatica Metadata Manager.

•        Experience with Informatica Data Quality and PowerExchange.

•        Analyzing source data for potential data quality issues and addressing these issues in ETL procedures.

•        Grid - enabled Powercenter.

•        Data acquisition from JMS/Web Sphere MQ Series messages.

•        Excellent Communication skills.

•        Experience in Automation is preferred.

Required Work Experience:

•        Full lifecycle development experience of data warehouse related ETL in Informatica 9.

•        Experience with SQL Server 2005, 2008 or Oracle RDBMS 11g.

•        Candidates will also have strong T-SQL skills (Queries, Triggers, Procedures, etc.).

•        Advanced ETL design and development with Informatica including batch and near-real-time data acquisition.

•        Experienced in tuning Informatica Mappings to identify and remove processing bottlenecks.

•        Proven ability and desire to mentor/coach others in a team environment .

•        Strong analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.

•        Strong organizational and documentation skills.

•        ETL design and development for acquisition of XML, Excel sheet, RDBMS, SQL Server 2005, 2008 and complex Flat File formats.

•        Setup automated change to production for Informatica code.

•        Installation, configuration, and administration of highly-available Informatica Powercenter environment.

•        Automated testing of ETL mappings.

•        Experience with Informatica Data Services is a plus.

•        Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
