Lead Oracle Enterprise Performance Management / Financial Planning Consultant
Job Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for providing subject matter leadership with respect to the Oracle/Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management/Financial Planning suite of tools, for incorporation into a new web-based Fiscal Project System for the United States Treasury. Duties will include working with the management team to define and plan the activities necessary to successfully accomplish the detailed requirements analysis and design, construction, and implementation phases, as well as leading the effort to successfully execute those plans in order to produce a production ready system on time and within budget.
The business clients for this application are geographically dispersed. Much of the requirements gathering and definition phases will be performed on conference calls with occasional trips to Washington D.C. Trips usually last three days and occur every 2 – 3 months. Travel may be more frequent and potentially longer in duration during the initial detailed requirements definition phase.
Examples of Duties:
· Serve as the Lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Oracle EPM / Hyperion Financial Planning suite and provide guidance to the project team with respect to the set-up, configuration, and utilization of these products.
· Advise the management staff regarding issues related to integration of the Oracle tools.
· In conjunction with the architects and implementation/integration team, provide conceptual design options to integrate the Oracle EPM / Hyperion Financial Planning products with internally developed components to formulate a complete solution that meets customer approved requirements and standards.
· Plan the effort, and lead facilitation discussion with end users and other stakeholders to define the detailed requirements and to design the final Oracle EPM/Financial Planning solution.
· Provide leadership to the team of Oracle subject matter experts to:
o Translate business level requirements into detailed technical requirements that can be implemented and validated.
o Develop use cases, web page/form and report mock-ups.
o Set-up and configure the Oracle EPM/Hyperion Financial Planning suite according to the approved detailed requirements.
o Migrate the solution through the various test environments and into the final production and contingency environments.
o Develop system/integration test plans and scenarios.
· Assist the management team in defining the staffing needs for the team of Oracle EPM /Financial Planning subject matter experts.
· Assist the management team in interviewing and selecting staff for the team of Oracle EPM/Financial Planning subject matter experts.
· Provide reliable and accurate level of effort and time for completion estimates.
· Mentor and transfer technical knowledge to other team and department personnel as requested.
· Follow all processes and methodologies as required, according to approved policies.
Knowledge and Experience:
· Solid background in formal system analysis, implementation, and verification.
· Strong recent background in setting up and configuring the Oracle EPM/Hyperion Financial Planning Suite, to include the following Oracle products:
· Hyperion Planning Plus
· Hyperion Data Relationship Steward
· Oracle Hyperion Financial Quality Data Management
· Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management Adapter Suite
· Oracle Essbase Plus
· Oracle Hyperion Data Relationship Management for Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Planning Suite
· Data Integrator Enterprise Edition
· Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition
· Certified Hyperion Planning Consultant is required
· Certified Essbase Consultant / Developer is required
· Experience leading teams in the successful implementation of Oracle EPM/Hyperion Financial Planning based solutions.
· Familiarity with system integration strategies, techniques, and tools is preferred (e.g. Connect:Direct, web services, XML, messaging middleware).
· General background and experience in a wide variety of information technologies including client-server and n-tier architectures.
· Experience working with and using relational databases is required.
· Experience working with data warehousing concepts/functionality is desirable.
· Experience using BPM techniques and workflow modeling is highly desirable.
· Experience mentoring Technical Analysts and other system implementation/integration personnel.
