Job Description:
Consulting opportunity for a talented and experienced Senior .NET Application Developer. The candidate will be required work closely with other developers, analysts and project managers to design, build and test business solutions.
Required Skills:
Candidates must possess strong organizational, communication, and relationship skills. They must be creative, self-sufficient and resourceful. Must be an experienced C# web based application developer utilizing Visual Studio 2005 or greater. Must have experience in designing data architectures and ER modeling as well as understanding of data handling and ETL processes. Extensive hands-on data analysis, query optimization and manipulation skills using PL/SQL and TSQL are desirable. Background in graphics design for the web is a big plus. Candidate must be able to function independently throughout the lifecycle of a project and also a strong "A" team player and flexible to adapt as the project evolves.
Technical skills and abilities:
· Five years minimum of related IT experience
· Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must
· Hands on experience with the following – ASP.NET 2.0-3.5 C#, JavaScript, AJAX, DHTML, XML/SOAP, ADO.NET and WebForms, Custom Controls, User Controls, Distributed System Development.
· Working knowledge using design patterns in .net
· Familiar with data modeling, design and application development
· Knowledge and understanding of relational databases
· Knowledge in SQL programming / Store Procedures /Functions and optimization
· Knowledge and experience creating transactional Web Front-Ends utilizing data from MS SQL Server and Oracle
· Knowledge of IIS 5.0, 6.0 application server architecture
· Good conceptual knowledge of application security design methodology
· Working knowledge of SOA architectures
· Strong understanding of relational databases and modeling techniques (ER, Dimensional)
· Strong analytic, problem solving, and collaborative skills
· Experience in using version control system (VSS, PVCS)
· Quick learner with minimal supervision
· Multi-tasking, able to manage and deliver multiple tasks within short timeframe
· Solid understanding of testing methods - Detail unit testing and integration testing
· Experience in rapid prototyping
· Proficiency with Photoshop and/or Graphics software is a big plus
· Working knowledge of life insurance business, terms, and processes a plus
· Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree preferred
Job Responsibilities:
· Design and Development of high performance transactional systems in .NET.
· Work with project team to design, develop and implement new web based applications
· Work with business analysts to develop technical design specifications
· Assist in the development and architecting data marts
· Assist in maintaining and enhancing existing website functionality and design
· Serve as a technical expert on .Net technology
· Provide subject matter expertise, training, and/or direction and guidance to less experienced staff members
· Must be comfortable interacting with Senior Management, end-users and operations personnel
· Familiarity with software development life cycle methodology including change management processes and ensuring changes are properly tested and migrated to production
· Create documentation and procedures with system deliverables, application design, and changes planned for production environment
