Senior Java/Spring Web Developer

Length of Work: 12 months (Start date: January 2nd, 2011)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

-       Work onsite with development team

-       Participate in application design, team estimation, and interface with other Engineers in the team

-       Participate in development of a scientific enterprise product along with an SDK for small to medium sized businesses.

-       Candidate needs to be able to work with minimal supervision, within a team, and be able to effectively communicate with the team.

-       Be integral part of an expert, dynamic team on whom the business is relying to build a competitive advantage through technology

-       Be involved in all levels of the software development life cycle

-       Integration of the framework with old legacy device access components written primarily in C

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

-       6+ years Java programming experience

-       2+ year or more developing with modern web frameworks (Hibernate, iBatis, Spring, Grails)

-       Solid Java/J2EE (Java, JSP, Servlets) hands-on experience

-       Experience with Eclipse IDE, IntelliJ, Ant, Maven and other configuration tools are a plus.

-       Object Oriented Design (OOD) and Object Oriented Programming (OOP)

-       Experience developing with SQL and relational database

-       Experience interfacing Java to native C using JNI

-       Good Understanding of Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DHTML, Web Services (XML, SOAP, RESTful etc)

-       Good communicator, team player and committed individual contributor

-       Experience with Scientific applications, spectrometry, interfacing with hardware preferred, but not required.

-       Experience working on an Agile/Scrum team preferred but not required.

 

DELIVERABLES

-       SRS for assigned work

-       SDD for assigned work

-       Mentor the team in Java EE technologies

-       Development of various frameworks including Security, Quality Control, Data Search and Review, and Diagnostics

-       Development of Spectral Display
