Position: Websphere Administrator                     

Location: Dallas, TX

Duration: 3-6 Months

 

 

In-person interview required

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installs, configures and maintains the operating systems. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware and applications software. Detects, diagnoses, and reports related problems on the server. Duties include installing and maintaining (from a server or system perspective) operating systems, database management systems, and programming tools. Monitors and tunes systems software and networks for optimal performance. Also installs new user accounts, creates batch administration scripts and runs systems backups and disaster recovery operations..

 

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with at least 5 years of related work experience.

 

Mandatory Experience/Requirements/Qualifications:

•     6+ years experience with IBM Websphere Application Server ND 6.1 and IHS/Apache server Administration in AIX platform.

•     3+ years experience with WAS ND 6.1 Advanced (Security, Work Load Management) Administration.

•     Excellent UNIX/AIX shell scripting knowledge.

•     Good Concept & Experience with load balancers & TCP/IP networking.

•     Proven problem solving and debugging skills

•     Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical ability. 

•     Working knowledge of  IBM WAS ND Version 6.1

•     Knowledge of J2EE, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, XML, JDBC, J2EE Patterns, STRUTS and IBM portal services (portlets) would be a preference.
