Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Client is looking for someone with  HP-UX and enterprise storage experience.  (Netapp storage).
Coordinates, manages, and supports UNIX systems, databases. Provides first line support for all UNIX software and associated products.
Follows documented procedures for the installation of production system and application software. Maintains all UNIX and LINUX related processes and procedures.
Configures, installs, maintains, and supports all UNIX software and hardware including but not limited to HP/UX and RedHat Linux operating system software and performance/support tools, third part support tools,databases, end-user applications, etc. Ensures system security and develops/implements disaster recovery plans. Performs shell scripting and kernal programming.
Establishes and develops strategy in accordance with IT standards and direction.
Ensures the UNIX environment is properly maintained and updated which involves constant communication with other resources within the Company.
Works with various teams to coordinate installation and support all UNIX software products/technology.
Determines, justifies, and recommends changes in UNIX server software and technology.
Works closely with various project teams to coordinate applications implementations and changes.
Provide technical support and input for quoting new projects and customer requirements.
Maintains enterprise backup and recovery system.
Maintains a high availability environment using clustering software.
Responsible for conducting capacity planning on all UNIX systems to ensure that all requirements are met.
Demonstrated knowledge of Storage arrays and systems, with the ability to provision and manage the storage arrays in an enterprise environment including allocating, expansion, and reduction of volumes.
Responsible for configuring and maintaining disk storage systems, including but not limited to Netapp and EMC storage arrays.
Some travel to divisions and IT locations as required to maintain servers and disk arrays.
 
Perform other duties as required.
Education/Experience
Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science or related field and 4 or more years experience in UNIX hardware and software;
Working knowledge with MC Service Guard software, Oracle Clusterware #2 or other type of cluster software helpful.
Working knowledge with HP/UX and RedHat software preferred
Solid knowledge of storage replication technologies between storage systems.
Strong communication, organizational and analysis skills.
Ability to teach team members and raise the technical skill level of others.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills that will require the ability to explain technical information to non-technical recipients.
