Job Description :
Web Ops Administrator (Ops lead)
Essential Functions:
- Identify and implement process revamp recommendations
- To fix and improve outdated deployment related processes
- By working closely with security, Web ops and technology teams
- Analyze business requirements to help determine appropriate Windows operating system and infrastructure requirements for corporate web sites.
- Provide day-to-day support of Windows web and web-application server environment. To include installation of system upgrades, design recommendations, addition of new users, operating system tuning for business application requirements, security, and ensuring high availability.
- Works with developers to deploy web site changes.
- Responsible for ensuring configuration management of all web boxes.
- Maintains servers, creates monitoring reports and logs, and ensures functionality of links. Monitors site for acceptable performance and user accessibility.
Experience / Training / Education:
• 4 year college degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years supporting Microsoft Windows servers.
• 3 years supporting Microsoft IIS, WLBS, and HA systems.
• Prior experience of process revamp in Ops area is must.
• In-depth knowledge and ability to command respect from technology, security/compliance and Ops teams is a must.
• Prior management and leadership and interaction with senior management (VP, SVP, CIO level) experience required.
• Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems including installation operating system for business applications environments. Knowledge of DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN environments, large database environments and high availability requirements are essential.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure troubleshooting and support including firewalls.
• Experience with Linux running Tomcat web servers desired.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Servers
• Knowledge of IIS 5.0 6.0 and 7.0
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of source code repository function (Subversion, PVCS, Team Foundation Server)
• Networking skills
• Experience with Internet facing website functionality
• Server administration skills, task automation with scripting (perl, powershell, vbscript, batch)
• Microsoft Biztalk Knowledge desired.
• Interwoven OpenDeploy knowledge desired.
Other Comments:
• Must wear pager and be on-call as needed.
