Position Title: User Interface Manager - Consultant
Location: South Brunswick, NJ (US)
Position Summary Statement:
Client is seeking a consultant manager for managing a team of consultants developing web applications and interactive web content, working closely with the Business, User Experience & Creative Design teams. The work includes architecture, design and development of the applications in a Microsoft .NET environment. The right candidate would be someone who stays abreast of new and emerging web application technologies and can do hands-on development as well as managing developer consultants.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Ability to work with business and design teams to understand scope of projects and articulate the project work to developers.
• Ability to understand all components of Client multi-tiered SOA framework so that proper solutions can be developed.
• Ability to manage 3-5 development resources, including understanding and accounting for developer abilities, monitoring developer work, influencing design and development practices, assuring that best practices are observed, and delivering project work on time.
• Communicate progress on project work to upper management.
• Attend meetings and reviews to properly represent technical team in project work.
• Ability to architect, design, oversee, and participate in development of dynamic destination web applications and web controls using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, interfacing with the back-end systems using ASP.NET and C# with platform integration libraries (Client-Server architecture).
• Work closely with other managers and developers in the UI group and the User Experience & Creative Design teams.
• Participate in the usability reviews and testing of the websites, interactive controls, and prototypes.
Experience/Skills:
• Prior experience developing web applications in a SOA-based environment.
• At least 10 years of professional experience with at least 3 years managing developers in building web applications.
• Passion for building beautiful and rich web applications that combine cutting-edge UI technologies with existing standards.
• In depth knowledge of client-side development and the differences between browsers.
• Thorough knowledge of JavaScript, working with objects in JavaScript, and libraries such as jQuery. Proficiency with current client-side debugging tools.
• Understanding of various techniques for making cross-domain requests.
• In depth knowledge of web development technologies, specifically ASP.NET, C#, HTML5, CSS3, XHR, JavaScript, jQuery, XML-XSLT, DOM.
• Experience with ASP.NET, including creation of controls, and control and page inheritance.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral, and to collaborate with other technical & business groups
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team.
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent work experience.
