Requirements:
Excellent communication skills
Illinois based candidates are highly preferred by our client!!  (if from out of state, will consider neighboring states to Illinois)

 

7+ years experience in the following:
ASP .NET, VB.NET, Visual Studio 2005 and/or Visual Studio 2008, SQL Server 2005/2008, Visual SourceSafe. 
Experience with Codesmith, IBM DB2 Workgroup, and Lotus Notes is preferred.
Previous experience on state government or insurance related projects is a plus!

 

Project Description:
The Department will expand the scope of the current premium review process in the State and significantly enhance consumer protections.
This project will include building a web-based application for insurers to report to the department certain information related to rate increases. This project also includes revising and updating the system for tracking calls to the Office of Consumer Health Insurance (OCHI).
We will convert an existing DB2/Microsoft Access system that maintains the Department's current and historical inquiry and response records for OCHI, and expand this system to track health-insurance-related inquiries received in other areas of the Department that currently do not have an automated system.
The result will be a centralized Inquiry and Response system with common tracking capabilities and the means to collect metrics from the various units.
The existing DB2- and Lotus Notes-based systems will be converted to the Agency standard Visual Studio frontend with a SQL database containing the data.
Candidate should be proficient in developing ASP.NET Web applications using Visual Studio 2005 and/or Visual Studio 2008.
Additionally, candidate should have experience working with Microsoft's .NET Framework 2.0 and higher, SQL Server 2005/2008, Forms Authentication, and be proficient with Visual Basic.Net and Visual SourceSafe.
Experience with CodeSmith, IBM DB2 Workgroup and Lotus Notes would be preferred, but not required
