Job Title:  Business Analyst with Healthcare

Location:  Chicago, IL

Duration:  12+ Months

 

Responsibilities & duties :-

The consultant will function primarily as a Business Analyst II and is responsible for all aspects of supporting business partners and customers. This includes traditional Business Analyst duties, such as working with clients to develop Business Functional Specifications for system enhancements, but also encompasses the full range of user support activities, such as researching reported issues, developing written explanations for the business problem that ensues and working closely with the Software Engineering team to find the best solution to the problem.

 

The Business Analyst II must be able to research an issue in the system, process limited or minimal information from the Client and develop logical conclusions as to the cause of the issue at hand. They must be able to communicate effectively between the Business community and the Engineering staff and understand both environments.

 

Work experience & skills

•Excellent ability to analyze complex business problems and utilize standard business analysis techniques to develop functional documentation.

•Advanced knowledge in specification gathering, analysis and documentation.

•Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

•Excellent people skills with comfort/confidence in client facing role.

•Strong level of detail, problem solving and organizational skills.

•Excellent ability to organize information, manage tasks and projects, and use available tools to effectively contribute to the organization.

•Ability to lead clients through intensive investigation into current business practices and procedures.

•Clear and concise documentation skills to effectively communicate system enhancements to the company's development team.

•Investigation skills to diagnose and resolve or recommend resolution to the technical staff members.

•5 years min. related experience, including working on a software development project team.

•5 years min. experience in project and client account management

•5 years min. experience in a BA role working with a complex, comprehensive healthcare benefits administration system or claims management system.

•5 years min. experience in healthcare industry including claims systems, HIPAA, provider relations and group and member services.

•Proven experience in business analysis, working with business units to acquire and document business rules.

•Proven experience with QA tools and developing QA standards is desirable

•Experience with and understanding of web software development

 

Academic, Certification & qualifications

Bachelor degree in BIS, Computer Science, or Information Technology
