Sr. Linux Administrator
San Francisco CA Summary
Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of all Production, Test and Dev systems.
Ensure a secure, robust and available infrastructure.
Operations experience in a data center setup is required
Some exposure to Hadoop/Cloudera is a plus
Responsibilities
- Define Operational processes and monitoring and maintenance procedures
- Define and enforce the standard operating systems configurations (including versions, packages and patch levels), management tools, scripts, and operating processes.
- Participate in the hands on management of the production systems, fault resolution and root cause analysis
- Administer Linux RHEL, Weblogic Application Servers and webservers
- Establish operations policies and procedures for production (with the DBA and Architecture teams)
- Lead the selection of management software for log management, release distribution and monitoring.
- Lead the development of support procedures and best practices
- Participate in capacity planning
- Performance analysis of systems
- Provide 24x7 system level support.
Qualifications
- MS/BS degree in Computing Sciences or equivalent is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Linux systems
- Weblogic Server Administration V8.x, V9.x, V10.x and V11.x is a plus.
- Experience with Nagios is required.
- Development experience in scripting and development of systems automation tools
- Working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies
- Experience with Virtual systems build and management utilizing VMWare is a plus
