Position: Windows Systems Administrator
Location: San Francisco, CA
Duration: 6+ months
Interview Process: Phone followed by Face to Face

Visa: EAD, GC, USC

Purpose:

Maintain production environment, which includes providing Level 1 and 2 support for all services and applications, and, if necessary, escalating to Level 3 support. Ensure proactive service monitoring alerts for infrastructure and applications, as well as operational readiness. Maintain specialized skills for services, applications, and infrastructure support and work with application development and infrastructure groups on operational dependencies. Maintain responsiveness to business needs, ensuring customer satisfaction through continued communication with customers, staff, and manager.

 

Major Accountabilities:

·         Maintain all service delivery operations and service levels for applications, services, and systems in the Production environment.

·         Isolate, diagnose and restore business operations in a timely fashion. Escalate to specialized engineering support when necessary.

·         Perform change and release management activities to support these processes in all regions.

·         Perform incident and problem management activities to support these processes in all regions.

·         Maintain proactive health check operations, service monitoring alerts, and comprehensive configuration documentation for all environments.

·         Support application development and engineering groups on operational processes that account for and validate all dependencies.

·         Maintain and enforce standardized, repeatable administrative and operational policies and procedures.

·         Monitor all server and system software activity to ensure service availability. Provide statistical data reports that support availability management process.

·         Provide 24/7 onsite, on-call, and weekend maintenance support to maintain service levels and to ensure proactive response to alerts or service requests.

·         Provide skill-set knowledge transfer that ensures necessary cross-training of other staff members.

·         Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

 

Skills/Knowledge:

·         Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, required.

·         Windows/Unix Server, Cisco network, Windows desktop, Veritas NetBackup and Appworx job scheduling certifications preferred. ITIL certifications desired.

·         Seven to ten years' technical experience and proficiency in at least five of the following technical infrastructures:

·         Middleware Services (includes Infrastructure Applications, Databases and Build Administration).

·         Directory, eMail, Scheduling, Print Services.

·         Windows and UNIX Server Platforms.

·         Network Services (Voice/Data).

·         Storage Services (Disk/Tape).

·         Data Center Facilities.

·         Operations Services.

·         Client Desktop Services.

·         Demonstrated experience enforcing and maintaining all infrastructure and applications service levels required.

·         Prior experience monitoring all server, storage, and middleware activity to ensure availability of services gathering statistical data, and providing reports that support the availability management process.

·         Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills specific to both technical and business audiences.

·         Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Must be able to work effectively under pressure, either independently, or as a member of a team.
