Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced UI Designer to assist in the design and development of our products. The ideal candidate will have successful experience in designing for both rich clients and web clients, with emphasis on rich clients. Significant experience in designing for systems developed in WinForms and ASP.Net, and ability to work in these environments to help the team produce UI layer code would be ideal. Background in Business Analysis, Human Factors, or hands on development also desired. Experience and enthusiasm for Scrum, XP, Agile, or Hybrid methodologies is a huge plus.

 

Profile:

Candidate must be an experienced software UI design professional who is a self-starter with demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, and has the ability to produce clear and consistent designs that are highly usable. Candidate will be expected to help bring consistency to products across product suites, and to produce timely UI design layouts, prototypes, mockups, and even initial UI screen implementations. Some hands-on coding within the UI layer will be required. Other, more general development skills would be seen as a plus. Candidate will be expected to participate in the effort to create and maintain appropriate UI standards and style guides. Candidate will have primary UI design responsibilities for significant new functionality in Windows based business software. UI design work will be carried out in an iterative fashion ahead of the development schedule. Some work will be performed using various wire frame tools, and some work will be performed using actual UI creation toolset within Visual Studio. Candidate will also be expected as a normal part of duties to help evaluate new UI work against standards, and perform reviews from a usability point of view. All work to be done for ongoing projects would be done in the context of a cross functional development team working together to produce high quality software products in an iterative manner. The successful candidate will be organized, thorough, personable, detail oriented and self-motivated.  Candidate must be able to successfully integrate with a team and support our team based culture by placing the highest value and priority on overall success of the team, not just their own contributions. Candidate will have a can-do attitude and will place an emphasis on a practical approach to getting the work done on time in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of Agile and Hybrid methodologies is preferred.

 

Qualifications:

• Three to five years of UI design experience developing software in client/server environment, or web environments, with a preference for client/server design.
• Successful project experience with Microsoft Technologies, preferably Winforms, C#, ASP.Net, and SQL Server.
• Ability to rapidly produce screen layouts, mockups and prototypes.
• Ability to perform UI centric coding in C#/WinForms to initiate UI forms development.
• Knowledge of Scrum, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies is a plus.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in radio or a related communications industry is a plus.
• A positive attitude and professional disposition.
