Job Title: Hybrid Data Engineer / Data Scientist
Location: Atlanta, GA (Local)
Duration: 6 Months, Renewable
"Basically looking to bring in a Hybrid Data Engineer / Data Scientist. don't want someone who is JUST a data scientist."
Need to find someone (ideally local in Atlanta) with the following skill sets:
General Skills:
• Worked large complex IT projects at large companies (Cable/Telco preferable)
• Experience working with "difficult" IT organizations and still able to succeed.
• Well versed on industry trends in Big Data, including streaming, real time analytics, operational reporting, etc.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to simplify technical requirements
Specific Skills:
• Experience with AWS Kinesis and AWS Tools (Redshift, Glue, Athena, Lambda)
• Data Science background including experience with machine learning, predictive analytics, etc.
• Experience with Java, Python, R
• Experience with Data Science NoteBooks (Jupyter, Zepplin, DataBricks)
• Ability to write simple to complicated SQL in addition to having ability to comprehend and support data questions/analysis using already written existing complicated queries
• Familiarity with Dev/Ops (Puppet, Chef)
• Understanding of Big Data concepts and common components including YARN, Hive, Pig, MapR, Scala, Spark, Kafka, HDFS, ELK
Some of the job requirements will include:
• Designs, develops, and implements data processing workflows to support business requirements.
• Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing.
• Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.
• Codes software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements.
• Standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and develops fixes.
• Loading and processing from disparate data sets using appropriate technologies including but not limited to, Hive, Pig, MapReduce, HBase, Spark, Storm and Kafka.
