WEB DEVELOPER -- ATLANTA,GA -- 6+ MONTHS

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 6+ months

Description:

Develop web pages, templates, scripts and other processes that produce content and syndication for the NBA.com group. 

• Follows tasks through a development life cycle (coding, testing, debugging, documenting, peer-reviewing, deploying, monitoring, and support) in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards.

• Delivers quality code on or before deadlines and communicates effectively with technical, business and project management.

• Contributes to task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities.

• Provides development and operational support to our customer and the rest of the team.

• Some evenings and weekends may be required. No overtime unless approved in advance.

• Works on-site in our Atlanta office. Must be available weekdays during business hours and must be available for interviews and a technical test.

 

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 3+ years experience developing Web sites for business purposes. Thorough understanding of the web and web browsers, their capabilities and their limitations. Thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (both in general and with libraries such as prototype, scriptaculous and jQuery,etc.), Experience in Unix command line required. Strong skills required in critical thinking and analysis. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Attention to details, a must. Prioritizes multiple tasks effectively. Some evenings and weekends may be required. No overtime unless approved in advance. Works on-site in our Atlanta/Techwood office. Must be available weekdays during business hours and must be available for interviews and a technical test.

 

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:  Development experience with Drupal, PHP, SQL, content automation and source control a plus. Experience in Drupal theming, configuration and/or module development strongly preferred. Experience in PERL/CGI, XML/XSLT and/or Flash/ActionScript a big plus.  Experience working in high-profile, high-volume web publishing environments is a strong plus.
