Here is the Job Description of the "Java Grails Developer" Opening with one of our Clients, I was talking about.

 

Job Description:

 

Primary role is to develop new applications and maintain existing Java and Grails applications related to reporting insurance/claim information .

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Develop new programs outlined in requirements specifications.

·         Modify existing programs to resolve problems or add functionality based upon problems identified by the support group or enhancements received from the state. Work with both entities to resolve questions as they arise.

·         Research assignments, document all changes and enhancements, and comply with programming standards and policies.

·         Perform sufficient level of testing to identify and resolve problems before the modification or enhancement is promoted to production environment.

·         Notify department management of problems or questions immediately that may  prevent  or delay work and inform them of changes needed in estimated hours or estimated completion dates for assigned tasks. Attend and participate in weekly team meetings.

·         Perform modernization to existing programs as required to improve maintainability.

·         Follow the change control process to ensure that version control is maintained on all programs.

·         Work with other client departments to resolve open issues. 

Additional Responsibilities

·         Ensure the timely and successful execution of production jobs used to produce claim extracts

·         Ensure all available claims are sent to the state based on the rules set forth by the Manager.

·         Research and resolve any issues involving these claims

 

Experience

·         Bachelor's degree or equivalent work history in Java and Grails Development Environment.

·         Maintaining, enhancing, and developing complex programs

·         Database access and retrieval
