Mainframe Application Developer --Mooresville, NC -- 6+ Months

Description:

Responsibilities: 

• Coding, testing and analyzing application software 

• Support existing business systems applications 
• Partner with business analysts to identify business needs and appropriate technical solutions. 
• Design and document moderately complex technical requirements for business applications. 
• Develop operational documents for applications
• Present application and technical support as necessary
• Design and document extremely complex technical requirements for business applications. 
• Analyze designs, develop and execute custom application features and functions.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
• 6-9 years of experience as a Mainframe Developer
• 2+ years of experience in leading complex projects. 
• 5+ years of experience in mainframes with strong PL/1, DB2 & IMS knowledge. 
• 2+ years of application development experience 
• 2+ years of experience leading a team of 3-4 resources. 
• Must have experience debugging and fixing issues on PL/1 and DB2. 
• Expert level knowledge of the required technologies and software programs  

Scope for Request:
Re-platform of our legacy eProcurement system to our new Lowesforpros.com site. Also, ongoing new features and maintenance.  

Additional Skills:
WCS/Commerce – Some working knowledge but not a hard requirement
Spring / Spring Boot – Strong working knowledge
Cloud Technologies – Some working knowledge
Kubernetes – Some working knowledge

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Should have at least 4+ years of experience in architecting enterprise level solutions and at least 6 years in a complete coding role.
• Should have at least 2 years experience in architecting applications using microservice architecture and patterns.
• Able to decompose and transition a monolith to microservices.
• Experienced and comfortable in using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience working in GCP, Azure or AWS.
• Should be hands-on and able to develop code and Proof of Concepts.
• Drive the adoption of new technologies by researching technical trends and developments.
• Experience in designing and providing technical direction to the team via sessions and UML artifacts.
• Worked in Agile Development and aware of CI-CD best practices.
• Able to design considering scalability, availability and performance.
• Able to provide best practices for development, unit testing and acceptance testing.
• Should be able to collaborate and work with the global teams.

Technology:

• Well versed in java and j2ee technologies.
• Extensive experience in Spring, SpringBoot, SpringCloud, ORM, Messaging technologies like

Kafka, Caches, REST and Relational/NO-SQL databases.

• Flexible & Skilled to understand JavaScript libraries like NodeJS, ReactJS.
• Worked on Maven, Gradle, GIT and Jenkins.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• E-commerce (WCS) domain experience.
• Java, Architect and Cloud certifications.
• Experience in security.
• Exposure to Drone, Spinnaker, Istio and Envoy
