Short Description: DBA, Lead (Teradata)
Complete Description:  • Serves as an expert consultant to applications developers to provide expertise on database capabilities and constraints  • Supports application development teams by recognizing and evaluating database issues and implementing solutions.  • Performs data modeling; develops physical designs that demonstrate trade-offs between logical design and system performance  • Creates logical and physical database designs  • Establishes security and replication procedures  • Demonstrates expert understanding of database performance tuning, data backup, recovery and security processes/ procedures  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent training and experience; Graduate degree preferred  • Approximately 8-12 years experience in related field  • 5+ years Teradata DBA (V2R6/TD12/TD13) experience, in a production environment required  • Participates in 24x7 on-call support rotation  Required Skills:-  • Database Administration and System Monitoring - Comprehensive and practical knowledge of the following:  • Extensive experience with system and application troubleshooting, upgrades, workload management, performance tuning, recovery, and capacity planning of the Teradata Database 12/13 in a MP-RAS/Linux environment  • Support and implementation of tools and utilities such as Fastload, FastExport, Multiload, TPump, Teradata Parallel Transporter (TPT), Data Mover, Viewpoint, Arcmain including Cluster archives  • Serve as an expert consultant to application developers to provide expertise on SQL, Macros, Stored Procedures, Triggers, and AJIs/JIs  • Strong knowledge of Teradata database administration best practices required  • Interface with the latest BIDW technologies such as Cognos, SAS, DataStage  • Fundamental knowledge of operating systems and system development  Communication/Personal – Strong demonstration of the following:-   • Ability to multi-task under minimum supervision  • Detail-oriented and good follow-up skills  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with project management and planning experience  • Capable to interface closely with internal/external customers and advice on database solutions
